Basic Commands

 

Select data from a table;

SELECT * FROM [database].[schema].[table name]

 

Select data from a table with a filter;

SELECT * FROM [database].[dbo].[table name]

WHERE Field Like ‘%FILTER%’ (% being wild cards)

example – 

SELECT * FROM [somedatabase].[dbo].[a table]

WHERE Name Like ‘%AB%’

result – 

Data will be listed, filtered to show data containing ‘AB’ in the field Name

 

You can also use AND after the WHERE to filter on multiple criteria

eg

SELECT * FROM [somedatabase].[dbo].[a table]

WHERE Name Like ‘%AB%’

AND Age = 4
